Privacy Policy

ChowHop! is a simple discovery tool, so we keep the data we collect to a minimum. This page explains what we handle and why.

Your location

When you tap “Near me”, your browser may ask for permission to share your approximate location. If you allow it, that location is used only inside your browser to pick the nearest Metro-North line and station and to sort the list. We do not save your coordinates on our servers, and we never share them with anyone.

Account information

If you create an account or sign in, we store the email address you use, and nothing more than what is needed to keep you signed in. You can request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us.

Messages you send us

When you use the contact form, we store the name, email address, and message you submit so that we can read it and reply. We keep these messages only as long as we need them to handle your note.

Cookies and analytics

We use the small amount of browser storage needed to keep you signed in and remember your filters during a visit. We may also collect anonymous, aggregated visit counts to understand which stations and lines people find useful. We do not sell data, and we do not run advertising trackers on ChowHop!.

Restaurant and map information

Venue details such as names, addresses, ratings, and opening information are compiled from publicly available sources, including Google Maps, and remain the property of their respective owners. When you tap a venue, you may be sent to a third-party site, which has its own privacy policy that we do not control.

Questions

If you have a question about this policy or want your data removed, send us a message and we will get back to you.
